Diesel and gas engines
Flexible HYDRA® axial expansion joints, metal bellows and corrugated hoses as decoupling elements
Expansion joints for use in the engine
Expansion joints are used in engines to absorb thermal expansion, vibrations and to compensate installation tolerances. They are also resistant to very high temperatures. Modern calculation and testing methods permit an optimum design.
Areas of use
Exhaust gas: header, bypass, upstream and downstream of turbocharger, charge air
Hoses for air and fluid systems
Technically gas-tight metal hoses with and without braiding are employed as air or fluid lines in areas that are difficult to access. Hoses from Witzenmann can also be reliably employed for line systems subject to very high pressures. Customised combinations of flexible hose segments and rigid pipe sections of stainless steel or cast iron elements are also possible.
Areas of use
Coolant line, oil line, compressed air line
Line systems for exhaust gases
They combine simple installation with reliable compensation of installation tolerances and component movements. They also decouple the vibrations at the outlet from the turbocharger.
Areas of use
Exhaust gases downstream of the turbocharger
Header
Expansion joints in headers are designed for the highest temperatures and pressures. Intelligent solutions permit a durable design for the whole service life of the engine.
Areas of use
Exhaust gas header between pairs of cylinders
Exhaust gas collecting
Line systems permit a safe and easy installation – even with complex geometries. The bellows guarantee reliable decoupling of expansions and vibrations. Hydraulically required components can be integrated with a minimum of space.
Areas of use
Collection of exhaust gases from several turbochargers and discharge to the customer's discharge point
